More dates but still little if any publicity

 

Residents who have asked the council to properly promote the meetings and drop-ins, and have even offered to help,  are certainly getting the runaround.

New dates have been agreed, but have been very poorly advertised. Again, the only way to find details is to know about the consultation and go to that page of the council’s website. It’s not linked at all on the library service pages, as it has always been in the past.

There are more dates this week. 

The meeting in Broad Green last week achieved just three attendees, with council staff and councillors outweighing attendees. Two of the three were alerted by the campaign. Despite this, there is still no sign of a flyer to promote the meetings in sight!

Croydon’s libraries meetings and drop-in sessions – Croydon’s best kept secret

Following criticism for the initial set of meetings and drop-ins arranged in haste and poorly advertised, Croydon Council has doubled its resolve to keep the opportunity for Croydon residents to learn more about the planned changes and to have their say on the down low by failing to advertise the next set of drop-ins and meetings at all.

The first is less than 48 hours away, yet the library services review page still only lists the February meetings.
